Global AI Chapter Insider: Advisory Board Nominations, a New Season, and a New Award
August is here, and the new event season is just around the corner. There's a lot to share this month, including a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of the Global AI Community.

1. Nominations Open: Join the Global AI Advisory Board
The Global AI Community has grown to more than 200 chapters across 70 countries. The Advisory Board gives chapter leads and long-time community members a formal voice in shaping how the community grows, from the event calendar and platform to partnerships and chapter support.

- Term: 1 year, October 1 \u2013 October 1
- Nominations close: September 15, 2026
- Who can nominate: Active chapter leads and long-time community members

2. New Award: Organiser of the Week
We've started recognizing the volunteers who keep this community running with a new Organiser of the Week award. Our last five winners:

3. A New Way to Manage Your Chapter
We've moved away from Umbraco, and everything you need is now in one place. The new Global AI platform lets you manage your chapter, events, and more through a single dashboard.
- Chapter Dashboard: See your member count, event stats, leads, co-organizers, and growth at a glance.
- Event Check-in Scanner: Use the built-in scanner to check attendees in at your events, no third-party apps needed.
- Email Your Members: Send messages directly to your chapter members straight from the platform.

4. Introducing Global AI Learn
A new addition to the platform: Global AI Learn, built to help members build practical AI skills. Work through focused courses, check your understanding, and earn a shareable badge when you complete the final test.
Courses are currently being prepared. Check back soon for the first Global AI Learn course.
5. Global AI is Ending Its Meetup Presence
We will be closing our Meetup groups as part of this transition. If you would like your group to be transferred to Azure Tech Groups rather than closed, please send us an email before August 20 and we'll take care of it.
6. Global AI Construct Runs Until August 30
If you haven't organised a Construct event yet, there's still time. Gather your community, pick a challenge, and build something together, all within a 2-hour hands-on workshop.

A new season of events is almost here. Here's what's coming up across the Global AI Community calendar.
