An important update about how Global AI Community chapters are organized online.

After 7 years of supporting Meetup.com, we will no longer be paying for the platform on behalf of our chapters.

The decision was not taken lightly, but the numbers are clear:

• Over $20,000 a year in costs
• More than half of chapters not meeting our community guidelines
• No real growth to show for it

A purpose-built home for Global AI

The good news: our own platform is ready, and it gives you more than Meetup ever did. It's purpose-built for our community, and we're confident it's the right home for Global AI going forward.

What happens next

The cutover will happen somewhere in August or September 2026. We'll reach out to chapter organizers directly with next steps before then.
